Allow your customers to register with your website so that you can enhance the shopping experience by retaining information about the customer that simplifies the check out process. You may wish to require shoppers to register with your site so you can track their purchases.
Display products on your website which visitors that can place in a shopping cart and then purchase. This includes setting up for payment by PayPal or other payment service. Unless you are a major retail business I recommend against collecting and storing credit card information because of liability issues. Your products can be online content such as e-books, artwork, photos and music as well as physical items that need to be shipped to the shopper. You can also provide your customer with automatic information about their order as it proceeds through your system.

You can track the status of your online inventory on a real-time basis and receive reports on inventory levels to allow for just-in-time reordering of inventory. You can get reports that show which products are selling well and which aren't. You can also monitor the buying habits of your shoppers.
